Chapter 2

My life changed the day I met Gingerkit. Mother was tiking me and Willowkit to a 'Special Place' and we had to go. Neither me or Willowkit, who as nearly asleep on out paws, was up for walking, but Fernpool had left, and Swirlleaf couldnt carry us both, so we walked. Gingerkit stumbled out of a bush at us. I scampered over. "Hi, Im Destinykit!" I introduced myself. "Im Gingerkit.' she meowed. "Where are your parents?" Swirlleaf asked calmly. "Parents? What parents?" Gingerkit asked. Like me, we were both out of the milk-drinking stage. Swirlleaf nodded knowing, I figured that she wasnt telling us something. Again. She hadnt told us why Fernpool had left, or why we never knew our father. "Can she come with us?" Willowkit asked innocently. Swirlleaf cocked her head. "Well, be smart about this. She-" That was as far as she got. Us three kits fell at her feet begging her. "Oh, please just let her stay!" ZThis may sound pretty stupid, us having just met her, but I know a kind cat when I see one, and she seemed nice. Swirlleaf purred. "FIne. She can come." Me and Gingerkit squeeled with happyness, and fell into a play-fight.
